My name is Tony and I’ve been in the wood business for over 50 years—from selling firewood to building fences, then expanding my skills to building barns and other structures.
It all began when my family moved from Chevy Chase, Maryland, to a farm in Berryville, Virginia. Though I missed my friends in the city, I quickly fell in love with the space and freedom the farm offered. After a few years, the Dutch Elms on our property died from blight, and instead of letting them go to waste, my friends and I cut and hauled the firewood back to Chevy Chase, where we sold it to homeowners. That was the start of a lifelong connection to firewood—whether selling it to make extra money or cooking my dinner on the grill nearly every night - nothing that beats the taste!
My mission is to provide quality firewood at a reasonable price while offering my extensive knowledge to customers on which variety is best for their needs.

After high school, I enlisted in the Navy, followed by studying at Virginia Tech, and then found myself back in what I knew best—the firewood business. This time, I expanded into building fences, which eventually led me to a more creative passion—building timber-frame barns.
Fast forward to 2022: with all three of my daughters living in Richmond, Virginia, and becoming a grandfather for the first time, I decided to take a leap of faith and move to Ashland, Virginia, to be closer to family. Having to rebuild my business and clientele, I went back to the basics and solely focus on supplying firewood to restaurants and homeowners in the Richmond area.
